Building Bridges and Bearing Burdens

  • Here is a wonderful blog by Matt Moore, a man committed to walking out the Christian truth with integrity in the face of on-going same-sex attraction.  This particular piece, “10 Empowering Truths for the Same-Sex Attracted Christian,” is excellent.  His point #10 should be memorized by every one of us who struggles with besetting and powerful temptations that don’t disappear just because we have truly repented and committed our lives to serving Jesus Christ:  “It won’t always be this way. Your struggle will end. The sin inside of you responsible for these attractions will once and for all be obliterated by the redeeming power of God. When Christ comes again, you will no longer just want to be like him but you will be like him (1 John 3:2). You will be sinless. You will be perfect. Hold fast to the hope set before you and stand firm in the gospel of your salvation. He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion (Philippians 1:6).”
  • Speaking of Matt Moore, of course I would recommend his whole site “”.   I have now “liked” it on Facebook and subscribed to get updates of his posts, as a means to stay in touch with struggles that I know many folk I really care about have area.  Really, his experiences and insights, shared thoughtfully with serious attention to Scripture, are of help for any of us struggling with, and at times falling to, besetting temptations in any area of life.
  • I have linked to material by Michael Brown elsewhere on this site and no doubt will continue to do so as he is not only prolific but wonderful in his exhortation, analysis, and ministry in areas having to do with sexuality, marriage, sexual identity and orientation, and so on.  This “Open Letter to a Gay Christian” is valuable, and also has a link to the original “open letter” from a professed gay Christian that he is responding to.
  • Speaking of Michael Brown, here are some his his major Web outlets that are worth paying attention to.  and Line of Fire Radio.
  • Here is a video I was just sent today (June 28 2016).  Darrell Bock of Dallas Theological Seminary interviews David Bennett, who went from being an LGBT activist to working with Ravi Zacharias Ministries International.  47 minutes long, it is entitled “The Same-Sex Attracted Christian.”
