David J. Ayers

David Ayers is Professor of Sociology and Dean of the Alva J. Calderwood School of Arts and Letters at Grove City College, Pennsylvania.  At the outset:  the sentiments, links, contents, and everything else on this site represent the views of David Ayers or the other authors he features here only.  They do not necessarily represent the positions or policies of Grove City College institutionally, nor of its faculty, staff or administrators.  Moreover, Dr. Ayers respects academic freedom.  He is enjoying and expressing his own academic freedom as a scholar, social scientist, and Christian layman here, just as he respects and defends the rights of his colleagues to do the same in their own varying public expressions, within the boundaries of Grove City College’s policy and mission.

Ayers holds his Ph.D. in Sociology from New York University (1996), his Master of Arts in Sociology from American University (1985), and his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Edinboro State College (1982, now Edinboro University of Pennsylvania).  He was on the faculty of The King’s College, New York (then in Briarcliff Manor) from 1986 to 1991, and at Dallas Baptist University, Dallas, Texas from 1991 to 1993.  He has been at Grove City College since 1996, and has taught courses on Marriage and Family for about thirty years.
